Supported databases FORPSI DBaaS supports MySQL 5.7, PostgreSQL 13.4, and Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (Web, Standard, and Enterprise editions). Each database runs as a fully managed engine — FORPSI handles installation, licensing, patching, and version upgrades, so you never need to manage an operating system or install database software yourself.
Shared or dedicated resources Shared resources are ideal for development and testing, and you only pay for the space you use. Dedicated resources with guaranteed performance are built for production.
Compute and storage Dedicated MySQL and PostgreSQL: 1–24 vCPUs and 1–72 GB RAM, 10–500 GB storage. Microsoft SQL Server: 4–16 vCPUs and 12–50 GB RAM. Shared database: 1–100 GB.
Connections Dedicated MySQL and PostgreSQL: 50 connections per 1 GB of RAM; Microsoft SQL Server has no preset limit. Shared database: up to 30 connections.
Access control Connections are allowed only from authorised IP addresses. The dedicated option allows unlimited addresses and whole subnets (CIDR); the shared option up to 2 addresses.
Backups An automatic daily backup with 7-day retention is included. You can also schedule backups or create them on demand (billed by size).
Supported tools Connect with common clients such as SQL Server Management Studio, MySQL Workbench or HeidiSQL.
Can I scale my database resources as my project grows? Yes. You can increase storage, RAM and CPU for your dedicated database instance at any time as your project grows. Resources cannot be reduced, and you cannot switch between shared and dedicated.
Do I need to manage the database infrastructure myself? No. FORPSI handles provisioning, updates, patching, and backups. You manage your data and schema — not the underlying server or engine configuration.
Which database engines are supported? FORPSI DBaaS currently supports MySQL 5.7, PostgreSQL 13.4, and Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (Web, Standard, and Enterprise editions).
How are backups and retention handled? Every database includes an automatic daily backup with 7-day retention, so you can restore to a recent point without any extra setup. Need a backup outside the daily schedule? Create an on-demand backup at any time, billed by size. Every instance also includes one public IP address for external connections.
Can I migrate my existing database to DBaaS? Yes — migration is self-service, so you can move your existing database over on your own schedule without needing to go through support.
Do I need technical experience to use DBaaS? You don't need database administration experience for day-to-day operation — FORPSI handles provisioning, patching, and backups. Basic familiarity with your chosen database engine (writing queries, managing schema) is still needed to build your application.
