How it works FORPSI Cloud Object Storage supports the S3 API, ACL-based permissions, encrypted transfer over HTTPS/FTPS and protection against overwriting files, so it plugs directly into your existing backup and application workflows.
S3 API access Full S3 API compatibility: use any tool or application that supports S3, such as S3 Browser, Cyberduck or CloudBerry Explorer. FTP access and a web client are also available. Up to 100 buckets per account, files up to 1 TB.
Access Control Lists (ACL) Buckets and files are private by default. Use ACL rules to grant access, for example public download, for a whole bucket, a folder or a single file.
Encryption in transit Data travels encrypted over HTTPS and FTPS only. TLS 1.2 and later are supported; older protocol versions are not, for security reasons.
Redundancy and region choice Every object is stored in three copies on three physically separate disks. Choose the region for your data from 7 data centers in the Czech Republic and across Europe; it cannot be changed once the account is created.
Is Cloud Object Storage suitable for large files? Yes — Cloud Object Storage is built for large, unstructured data at any scale, from single large media files to archives spanning hundreds of terabytes. There's no practical per-file size ceiling for normal use, and storage scales independently of compute.
Can I scale my cloud resources as my project grows? Yes — move between package tiers at any time, or switch to pay-per-use if your usage pattern is unpredictable. Storage and outgoing traffic scale independently, so you only pay for what changes.
How is my data protected against hardware failure? Every object is stored as multiple copies across physically separate storage devices, so a single hardware failure never means data loss. The underlying Ceph-based infrastructure is designed for this redundancy by default, not as an add-on.
Can I choose where my data is stored? Yes — Cloud Object Storage is available across FORPSI's cloud regions, so you can choose where your data is geographically stored.
Is the service compatible with my existing S3 tools? Yes — Cloud Object Storage fully supports the S3 protocol and S3 API, so it works out of the box with the backup tools, applications, and scripts you're already using without custom integration work.
Do I need technical experience to use Cloud Object Storage? Basic familiarity with cloud storage concepts helps, but no specialised expertise is required to get started — the admin interface handles bucket creation and access-key management, and S3-compatible tools handle the rest for anyone already using similar services.
